Mark Carroll, Vice President of Advanced Technology Group and CTO for HP Networking, leads the technical and strategic direction of the HP Networking Business Unit. In his role at HP, mark oversees the technical and strategic direction for Data Center, Enterprise as well as Converged Campus and SDN.
Mark previously worked at Qualcomm, where he served as Vice President, Engineering and Product Management, Wireless Infrastructure and Networking. In this role, he was responsible for connectivity and networking products. He grew the business 28% y/y with Wi-Fi and processor leadership products attaining #1 in retail and enterprise market segments.
Prior to Qualcomm, Mark was Vice President, Engineering and Product Management, Linksys Division at Cisco, where he led engineering and product management for carrier, SMB and retail and created cloud networking-based products and services for enterprise and home. While at Cisco, he held additional leadership roles as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Director of Engineering for the Service Provider Technology Group.
Mark has been an integral part of the telecommunications and networking business for 25 years, holding GM, CTO and VP Engineering roles with Qualcomm, Cisco, and other companies including Stratacom, Siemens, IBM and ROLM systems where he introduced first-time industry products into the market. Additionally, Mark founded two startups in networking and hospitality sectors and completed 10 successful merger and acquisition deals in the networking, SW and consumer markets.
Mark has served on multiple boards including non-profit Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and California Polytechnic University - San Luis Obispo and holds several patents. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Physics and currently lives in Saratoga, California.
